Corporate Affairs Department
This department is responsible for disseminating information on RIPCO (B) technologies and activities at national, regional and international level to ensure that the organisation gets widest publicity; coordinates and implements RIPCO (B)’s capital projects, consultancies, fund raising and special events. It oversees:
Public Relations Section which aims to disseminate information on RIPCO (B) technologies and activities at national, regional and international level to ensure that the organization gets widest publicity. The section also promotes a mutually beneficial relationship between RIPCO (B) and its stakeholders and the general public through a multi channel approach embracing utilization of mass media and interactive processes. The section undertakes the following activities:
News releases, feature articles, advertorial which are published in newspapers and magazines

Radio and television programmes

Publications and promotional materials on commercial products

Media relations

Corporate social responsibility

Social investment activities

Special events such as open days

Support to other departments in their promotional efforts
The Section has the following objectives (strategies):

To institute and manage corporate communication strategy

To maintain liaison with external media houses

To ensure RIPCO (B) is properly positioned in the external environment

To undertake studies to determine public understanding and perception of RIPCO (B)

To manage information about the organization
Corporate Planning undertakes consultancies and relevant studies such as national needs assessment surveys, rapid rural appraisal studies, technology impact and economic assessment and brain storming sessions to ensure that RIIC’s research and development activities conform to the socio-economic needs of the people of Botswana.
