Research and Development
Headed by the General Manager, the Research and Development department is the core business of RIPCO (B). The department consists of four sections as follows:
Project Development Section
It is responsible for design and drafting work for all RIPCO (B) technologies and prototype development. It undertakes testing of prototypes to ensure that they conform to established criteria before they are released for sample development and commercial manufacture.
Services Section
It is responsible for prototype manufacture and production functions through the Research and Development Workshop. It oversees the foundry which supplies the section with casted components for technologies being developed.
Civil Engineering
It undertakes research and development work on water and wastewater treatment technologies, sanitation and building projects and technologies.
Energy Section
It undertakes renewable energy activities with emphasis on solar cooking and pumping; biogas, energy management; solar space cooling and solar cold rooms.
